Something that I wanted to share

So..something has really been weighing heavy on my heart that I wanted to share.  

If you follow me at all-you know that one of my very FAVORITE aspects of being a health and fitness coach are the connections and re-connections that I have made and continue to make.  Over the past ((almost 2 years!)) I have been able to connect with thousands of people- helping so many of them get started on their very own health and fitness journey, build a business of their own, quit their jobs, drop an extra part-time job etc.  This "job" has been everything I never knew I always wanted:  To be able to be a stay at home mom, AND run a business HELPING others in every way I know how :)  I say it to my husband over and over again- that I would coach people for FREE, if I did not even make a DIME, I enjoy it THAT much. 

 I enjoy people overcoming their fears and trying something knew, 
I enjoy the people who have tried EVERYTHING and who are SKEPTICAL of our Beachbody programs and what I have to offer, and soon find out IT WORKS! 
 I enjoy those people who are FINALLY willing to ACCEPT that the ONLY way to anything WORTH HAVING in life takes WORK & COMMITMENT.  
I enjoy the CHALLENGE of the person who needs their hand held through an entire program-and then I see their results and they've dropped 20 lbs. and gained self-confidence that they NEVER had.  It is so rewarding to me.

Anyway, the point of the post is this: I am not here to SELL you something.  
I legitimately CARE, and want to make a difference in someone's life.  


During most of my important milestones in my life, I shed a lot of friends, I got lost in long-term relationships, I take everything personal-until I know differently-->something that personal development has worked wonders on!, and so on.  Because I am SO PASSIONATE about what I do as a health and fitness coach, because of the way it has changed my life financially, emotionally and personally- I literally want to share it with e-v-e-r-y-o-n-e.  
I have reached out and reconnected with so many of my high school friends, college friends, people that I used to work with etc. and have rebuilt so many of those friendships, another reason why I am a believer of "everything happens for a reason." 
There was this one particular woman that I had reached out to SEVERAL times- and never heard from her, not even a "no, I'm not interested."  Because I thought maybe my messages went to her "other" folder, I thought let me reach out ONE more time.  I just wanted to let her know that- I know our programs and this amazing opportunity may not be for everyone- so, if it wasn't for her-that is totally fine, but I was hoping she might know someone that may be interested. 


AND THEN....she responded! 

I hadn't talked to her in YEARS, and I was so glad to hear from her! Until I started reading her message- Actually, I was still glad she shared a part of her story with me because I was SO glad to let her know that she is not alone.  Most woman suffer at least ONE miscarriage during their childbearing years, but sometimes more.
She started explaining (not in these exact words), that I was not being a "friend" but basically trying to sell her something, which is NOT what I am about.  
I am just a girl who stumbled across these amazing programs and this awesome opportunity that had such a positive impact on my life- and this is my way of paying it forward.  
Anyway, she told me she was actually trying for a baby and it wasn't happening, then she miscarried.  I could 110% RELATE! That was THE entire reason I got started with Beachbody to begin with.  I had a miscarriage before I was successful with my 3rd pregnancy, and before she actually stuck, it was STRESSFUL- and I needed a distraction-->Beachbody. 
 I needed something that would make me feel good about myself, a stress-reliever. Once again Beachbody to the rescue.

Trader Joe's Find!!

I always love a new good find at Trader Joe's :) 

Yesterday I found these awesome little super seeds! It's a blend of buckwheat, chia seeds, dried cranberries, shelled hemp seeds and coconut chips. (I LOVE anything coconut!)

These will make the PERFECT topping to my greek yogurt -but since, TODAY I am OUT of yogurt (oops) I decided to try something else! 

I made these little energy balls :) 

1 scoop chocolate Shakeology
2 TBS PB FIT (powdered peanut butter)
3 TBS of unsweetened Almond milk
2 TBS of this super seed blend! 

They honestly taste like a little cake ball! Just another quick 'grab and go option: I am refrigerating 2 and freezing two just to check the different textures!

These REALLY just happened!

Roasted Buffalo Chickpeas

Let me preface this post by saying, I LOVE BUFFALO ANYTHING, cauliflower, wings, chicken, you name it! Hot Sauce is my Jam, my husband and I actually collect all different varieties everywhere we go! Ghost pepper has been the most torturous so far!!

I am newly obsessed with roasted chickpeas-I had tried and failed at making them several times, but now that I finally have it figured out-I can't stop!! ...and then, there was THIS!! BUFFALO CHICKPEAS..cue Angels singing!

RECIPE: ROASTED BUFFALO CHICKPEAS

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cans chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
  • 2 T melted butter ( I plan to use Ghee)
  • 1/3 cup buffalo sauce (Frank’s Red Hot is perfect)
  • 1 t garlic powder
  • 1/2 t kosher salt (I plan to use SEA SALT)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. Drain chickpeas and dry thoroughly (you want the sauce to stick well).  I usually let sit on the counter for 20 minutes or so on a paper towel.
  3. Mix together remaining ingredients (a pourable measuring cup works well here).
  4. Place chickpeas on a sheet tray. Pour sauce over and mix well, making sure all the chickpeas are coated (your hands work best here).
  5. Roast for approximately 45 minutes, stirring at least twice throughout baking time (they should have some crunch to them).
  6. Store at room temperature for up to a week.

FAD DIET?!?!!



I was talking to a woman today who had just started her health and fitness journey and was looking to me for ideas and support. When I asked her if she was familiar with Beachbody she said, "I'm not saying it is, but...I try not to pay much attention to those 'quick fix' or 'fad diets.'"

My response, "GOOD!, ME EITHER!" I have been there done that- and gotten NO WHERE fast! If it sounds too good to be true, it likely is. A healthy lifestyle takes WORK, It takes clean, good, food, in the right portions & exercise. Is it always easy, NO, HECK NO. Next, you need to muster up the motivation to DO the workout, plan your meals etc. Some days will seem harder than others-but once you start to see your body changing-there is no looking back!

So, no it is not a quick fix- I'm not going to give you a magic pill that will help you loose 15 lbs by Saturday- but I'll give you all the tools, and support that I possibly can to help you make your new, healthy lifestyle - just that-LIFELONG.

MY BAR OF CHOICE! DEAL OF THE WEEK!

LARABARS!!! Are my absolute favorite.  One of the reasons I've named my blog "FUEL & Fitness" Is because I am SO passionate about learning and sharing what I learn about the best ways to FUEL our bodies!! The easiest way to do this is with the foods that we eat.  The general rule of thumb is to choose foods in their most natural form & 5 ingredients or less for listed ingredients.  You should also be able to pronounce those ingredients or be able to easily GTS (google that stuff!) and figure it out in a couple seconds. :) These bars vary in ingredients depending on the flavor but essentially they are a FRUIT & NUT bar. 

If you are like me: Once I pass that point of "a little" hungry...I go into full-on HANGRY mode! When I'm in this mindset - my food choices usually are not on point, if you catch my drift! ;-)  You will ALWAYS find these in the bottom of my bag-AND in my car.

THIS WEEK, at GIANT/STOP AND SHOP (Depending on where you live) Larabars are .88 (usually $1- 1.25) when you buy 10! So of course, I consulted my coupons for an even more amazing deal.

Savingstar also have a coupon but this is something you'd need to set up :) 

Giant is one of those grocer's that only doubles ONE coupon for the same item per transaction and since you have to buy 10 to get the deal, it will only double once, but still a killer deal!

2nd coupon: .75
3rd coupon: .75

Honey CINNAMON Roasted Chickpeas!

I am ALWAYS looking for a "healthier" crunchy snack.  It's just something about that crunch.  I have tried to roast chickpeas before-but they never came out right! I finally broke down and bought some from the store, they were incredible!!! After I finished the bag- I decided I was DETERMINED.  I set out to Pinterest to find tips or tricks, SOMETHING needed to be different.  I found this AWESOME recipe and found out that the missing step was RINSING, removing loose skin AND letting dry on a paper towel for AT LEAST 30 minutes.  They came out great and I'm currently making a double back to have as a healthy snack on vacation! 

Here's the recipe I am using!!
 

Honey Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 TBL granulated sugar
  • 2 TBL honey

Instructions
  1. Drain and rinse your chickpeas. Remove any loose skins off of the beans but don't worry about taking them all off. Just remove the ones that are super loose.
  2. On a paper towel or towel, evenly spread your beans and let dry. I dried mine for about ½ hour.
  3. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  4. Line a cookie sheet with either foil or parchment paper.
  5. Evenly spread your dried beans on cookie sheet
  6. Bake for 40-60 minutes. It will all depend on your oven. Check after 40 minutes and if they are crunchy, they are done. If they are too moist then cook a little longer but watch so they don't burn.
  7. After baking, quickly transfer to a bowl and mix with the 2 TBL olive oil or coconut oil.
  8. Then spread the seasonings of whatever flavor you are using and mix well.
  9. With the honey cinnamon flavor, after coating, you can put the beans back into the oven for 5 minutes or so to caramelize them.

Clean Donuts!!

4 Ingredient, Clean Donuts!

I came up with the name for my blog FUEL & Fitness because I am very passionate about nutrition.  I truly believe that they way we FEEL is a reflection of what we FUEL our body with.  Clean food-if food is its purest form, this is unaltered, unprocessed food.

Once in a GREAT while, I will buy my daughter a donut upon her request, if I am picking up my free Dunkin' coffee after the EAGLES win their Sunday football game! Lately, she has been asking every single time we pass! I finally said let's make some at home! 

We tried several recipes before we came up with this WINNER!! 


Next stop, the craft store for a donut shaped donut pan!!

Recipe! 
1 cup Almond Flour
3 TBS Maple Syrup (or raw honey) (If you like SWEET try 1/4 cup)
2 large eggs
2 tsp Vanilla
1/4 tsp Baking Soda

Preheat oven to 300 degrees, Bake on a greased pan (I used a mini cupcake tin because that's what I had) for 10-15 minutes! ENJOY!

For the Icing I used 1/2 cup Wholesome brand confectioners sugar, with 4 TBS Vanilla Almond Milk...I added some chocolate chips to make it chocolate !

Hammer & Chisel Week 4

Since starting workouts after giving birth 11 months ago, I have worked out very consistently all though for one reason or the other did not feel like I was giving my workouts & nutrition 110%.  I would skip a few workouts, pick and choose from different programs etc.  



Posting progress pictures will never be easy. We will always be our own worst critics but it's important to celebrate small successes. Four weeks ago I COMMITTED to completing Hammer & Chisel, a new Beachbody workout program by Trainers Sagi, & Autumn Calebrese. Think Body Beast meets 21 day fix extreme.  It has been AMAZING.  I have stuck to the workouts 100% my nutrition plan has NOT been 100% and that is something I'd like to work on. I eat CLEAN 90-95% of the time, but I splurge on clean sweets at times. I have been seeing some good results and am LOVING the lean muscle I am building. BELOW is two weeks into my hammer & chisel journey. I've had a couple of cheat meals/drinks 🍾 in between - but that's LIFE, and that's okay. Also important to note: I have not lost ONE pound, and that is not my goal. I am going for TONE, And building LEAN muscle- I think it's working. 




I had my 3rd c-section 11 months ago, here is a picture of my progress after 4 weeks of this program :) A huge part of my success comes from these awesome accountability groups I run.  I have challengers who are doing Beachbody programs WITH me- They hold me just as accountable as I hold them :)



I am getting ready to go on Vacation but am excited to finish out my last 30 days of this program! and then I might do it again!!! <3

WHAT IS BEACHBODY COACHING?




See that picture above. THAT is exactly what i felt like when I first found the coaching opportunity. I was like OK, sounds cool BUT I just want the discount. <----HONESTY. I did not even consider the business part of it, really, because honestly, it sounded way too good to be true, I thought, that's cool for her but-I can't do that, PLUS, I couldn't afford to lose any money at all. I had to put my first challenge pack on an already packed credit card, but I was DESPERATE for a change.

I really want to save people from the anxiety and uncertainty of researching Beachbody coaching. This is totally unbiased. I will not put a link at the end of this blog and I will not encourage you to join MY next challenge group BECAUSE I really and truly want everyone to succeed, whether it is with me or with someone else! I believe this opportunity can SAVE people. It saved me and it has help ME SAVE many people I have come in contact with :) Let me start by telling you exactly what a Beachbody coach IS and ISN'T. -------------->


After reading that you are probably thinking OK, who isn't a Beachbody Coach?! HAHA! Let me explain a little bit. A Coach can wear many hats and be considered many things but the NUMBER ONE thing I believe that rings true is a LEADER. A Beachbody coach leads people in the right direction with their health and fitness AS WELL AS goals and dreams. There are a few really common misconceptions that I hear all the time and I wanted to address them !


--You don't have to be at your goal weight! ----> Beachbody coaching is more about taking the journey WITH others, alongside of you. Think about it.....how relatable is perfection? I would not be motivated by somebody who proclaimed to have it all together and have the perfect/ideal body they always wanted. I want to know that someone else is struggling to put down that chocolate chip cookie dough down right along side of me! 

--You don't have to be a business WIZ!- A lot of people are really scared at first!! Saying things like "how would i get people to join my team?" OR "How would I get in touch with people" OR " I don't even think I have a market!" ....The MOST beautiful thing about it......ALL THESE THINGS ARE ALREADY SPELLED OUT for you. We have tons of trainings, documents and one-on-one trainings for this very reason! Some of the TOP COACHES in the BIZ (we are talking millionaires people) have figured out the ways and they pass it down to you! :) 

--You don't have to be a certified personal trainer or nutrition BUFF. --> So do you guys know some people named Shaun T? Tony Horton? Autumn Calabrese? Chalene Johnson? Well, incase you don't....these are the CELEBRITY TRAINERS that Beachbody has hired to whip challengers into shape! They are THE BEST OF THE BEST! Nobody needs ANOTHER personal trainer !! Beachbody also has full teams of the top nutritionists making custom meal plans (tested and proven) for challengers to use! Challengers still have questions? No problem ! Type it into the FAQ and get an answer in seconds!!! 



I bet you are thinking ...SERIOUSLY?!?! That is amazing! 

Yeah, that is what I am trying to tell you! HAHA! But most people cant see it at first because our BRAINS ARE TRAINED -- go to school, spend thousands getting a degree ...then work in that job for YEARS behind a desk until you GET TO retire...ALAS, there IS a better way! 

All of the benefits above are real and true. In the beginning I made  (on average) between 200-500 A WEEK in my first 6 months with Beachbody. Ask yourself ...how much would an extra $800-$2000 dollars a month help you and your family? Are you saving for an extra special vacation? a new pair of shoes?
